Our superlative catering is provided by Darren Gladman and his team led by James Blakeley. The restaurant has a cosmopolitan feel and it is Darren’s objective to supply a fine dining experience for members and visitors alike. Unlike many golf clubs Oakdale has a thriving social membership many of whom visit the clubhouse to take advantage of the lounge bar and restaurant facilities.
Darren’s background prior to Oakdale was as Head Chef at both Rudding Park Hotel and The Garden Room Restaurant at Harlow Carr, both of which achieved a food standard of 2 Rosette. He also achieved this standard at nearby historic Ripley Castle where he was instrumental in opening a 40 cover Bistro with David Box and worked with the banqueting staff.
Darren has built a strong local reputation since coming to Oakdale, he has a passion for creating menus, cooking and using new and exciting ingredients.
Oakdale is available for functions and events seven nights a week. Darren has put together some very creative and imaginative menus designed around the different seasons so he can give the best choice of food. Should you prefer any alternatives or special diet he will only be too happy to discuss particular suggestions.
Our air conditioned restaurant has magnificent views over the putting green and course beyond.
